Chapter 3: The Weight of Expectations

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the bustling streets of the city, where the scent of street food mingled with the sound of honking cars and lively chatter. It was a new beginning for Anita Rane, but the weight of her expectations felt heavier than any burden she had carried before. As she sat in her modest living room, her fingers nervously fiddling with the edges of her blue saree, she couldn’t shake the nervous flutter in her stomach.

Rishav Rane, her soon-to-be husband, was a man of contradictions. He had a commanding presence, with sharp features that spoke of both authority and sorrow. She recalled how his demeanor shifted between the caring father who gently held his son’s hand and the domineering figure who laid down the law about her new responsibilities. The thought of becoming a mother to Arjun and Aishe filled her with both hope and trepidation.
